According to him, some of the beneficiaries of the NDE program.. –
“The federal government is seriously focusing on helping young people who are unemployed by implementing various interventions to at the very least help them become self-employed.
“40 beneficiaries out of 100 received loan packages ranging from N250,000 to N500,000 after a recent NDE training on entrepreneurship, and they are now engaged in serious businesses.”
The Rural Employment Promotion Department of the NDE recently trained 93 participants in agriculture and provided them with loan packages totaling N100,000.
Some of them purchased cows, while others engaged in crop production; still, others were involved in the value chain of agriculture and had already begun hiring labor, according to Mr. Yaya.
He added that some of the recipients of the Extended Special Public Works, who received N60,000 each, banded together into a cooperative society and pooled their funds to purchase cows.
He explained that after three months, they slaughtered the cows and got bigger seed capital to start various small businesses in their communities.
“The federal government is making a significant contribution to addressing the country’s unemployment problems.
We have seen young entrepreneurs who received loans and have already started hiring employees,” he said. “I am saying this because the Industrial Training Fund had invited me to their program.
He mentioned the CBN’s Nirsal Microfinance Bank as another organization that helps and assists unemployed youths to become labor employers.
“The Bank of Agriculture is also a partner in our progress if you look at them.
Some NDE trainees who were turned down for loans by the directorate were connected to the bank, where they are now able to obtain loans, the man said.
He advised those who had benefited from various federal government interventions on how to make the most of their opportunities.
