The Federal Government has officially launched the $20,000 Grant for Vulnerable Groups, which is consistent with his deliberate national agenda of rescuing 100 million Nigerians from poverty within ten years.
This Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG) was created to offer a one-time grant, a cash grant of #20,000, to some of the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians in rural and peri-urban areas throughout the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, to empower the beneficiaries to improve their productivity and their commercial activities, with the primary goal of helping them escape poverty.

The program is being carried out in close collaboration with the state government, according to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, who was present at the announcement on Thursday.
The nation’s primary developmental challenge, according to the minister, is poverty, which was shown to be a collective commitment to be addressed.
According to her, the GVG “was designed to provide a one-off grant, a cash grant of N20,000.00, to some of the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians in rural and peri-urban areas across the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, to empower the beneficiaries to improve their productivity and their commercial activities, with the primary goal of helping them escape poverty.
Our goal in Plateau State is to distribute the grant to more than 3,500 beneficiaries across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, a significant increase from the 1,928 beneficiaries in 2020. The Federal Government’s dedication to addressing poverty in the State is amply demonstrated by this.
